How Can A Banned User Name....
...show up on the Currently Active Users List? Is it a glitch or will any banned member's username show up when they're cruisin' the site?

You get banned due to actions that are considered by the staff to be destructive for BP.net. Only a staff member (mod or admin) can ban someone. Spammers and really obvious trolls may receive an immediate ban. Other bans usually require a lot of discussion among the staff and are never taken lightly. Overall, we tend to be extremely tolerant and will give as many chances as seems reasonable (and sometimes even unreasonable). If a member earns 100 infraction points, they receive a 30 day ban. If the infraction points reach 150, the ban will be permanent.
A banned member is not able to participate on the site in any way. If they try to log in, they will show up on the "active user" list, but they won't be able to do anything. The name may stay on the list for several minutes even after they've left.
