Anyone hit on butter/lesser clowns yet?

I can't believe the clowns have already been combined with recessive traits, but I still haven't seen a butter/lesser clown. I know plenty of people shot for these this year with butter/lesser het clowns, any news? I can't wait to see one.

I think Brock Wagner has a shot at it.

The one thing to remember is that the recessive traits that the Clown has been crossed with have been around many years longer than Lessers have. Therefore, I don't know why it is so unbelievable.

While lessers have been around for less time than the recessive morphs that have already been combined with clowns, Lessers and butters have been around long enough to be combined with ghosts and pieds, so why not clowns? We have even seen a banana clown, lessers and butters are much more accessible to most than bananas. It surprises me that it hasn't been done yet because it seems like a combo that would be both incredibly beautiful and a genetic powerhouse. Good luck to all those shooting for it this year, I can't wait to see one.

I have a young Het Vin Russo/Het Clown male (400 grams with sperm plugs) who has been an inconsistent eater -- that might breed breed some Het Clown girls. Plan is to pair them early next month. A Clown Het Vin Russo would be the first step toward BEL Clown. I will have some Butter girls ready next year -- I hope.

As Tim indicated, there are many long-existing morphs that have not been combined until very recently -- if at all. I made 2 in my first breeding season last year -- Butter Cinnamon and Butter Yellow Belly. There are so many choices/projects available that any breeder can not do all the projects he would like in a perfect world.

I have no doubt that many other first time combos will be made this year as well -- a few of them will be common 2-gene combos. I look forward to the bi-product of breeders vision/decisions.

Good luck on those pairings! BEL clown sounds very interesting, hard to imagine what that would look like, if some of the clown pattern shows through it would be awesome.

I should do it this year. I have three adult female Clowns being bred by my Lesser Het Clown male. One is close to ovulation right now!

I'm thinking the fix is in if you don't make a FEW with those pairings -- good luck Brock.
