    UTH for wood

I am thinking about building an enclosure for my BP and want to use wood. My only real concern is how would I use a UTH? would I need to cut out a section for glass to stick it on? I dont think I can just slap it on the wood...that seems like a fire hazard. I heard about some kind of heat tape but im not sure what that is or how it would work. Any advice?

I don't think you have to worry about a UTH directly on wood being a fire hazard. At least, so long as you regulate the temperatures via a thermostat. Foil tape works very well to attach the UTH with, you can find it at home depot in the area with the home thermostats. I haven't used flexwatt as of yet, but someone more knowledgeable can surely help you out more.

If anything on your enclosure is hot enough to BURN WOOD, then obviously the snake would be long dead.

No, a regulated UTH will not burn wood. Just tape it on with aluminum tape.
