glow confusion
Ok back in nov I put my spider male with my big 2000g female normal. She has had one clutch in her life and is about 6 years old. I never witnessed any lock so I decided to give up thinking my spider had no interest.
Well today she just shed and I think she is glowing, her head almost looks hypo and she is lighter all round.
what I am wondering is if she is glowing and nearing ovulation can you still put the male with them? Or is that it shes fertalized all she is going to and now just wait and see if she does ovulate. If you can still put a male with her Id like to put my pastel with her, see if I can get a clutch with spiders and pastels.
I do have an incubator and if she is gravid then I want to get right to work on my hatchling rack.

Is there anything else besides ovulation that would cuase a female to get so much lighter? From my pics its hard to tell that she is but when I look at her she just looks so different.

She will begin to glow before the actual ovulation, could be a few weeks. I would keep pairing her until you see ovulation. The faded head is a great sign

so once she has ovulated there is a month before she lays?
If I miss the ovulation is there other signs that she has gone through it? I want to have my incubator set up ahead of time.
also there is about 55 days to hatch right?
If so I should have a good three months yet to build my hatchling rack?
This is all very exciting, I keep reading everyones excitement, and seeing others hatchlings, I cant wait to see the little heads coming out of the eggs.
This will be the closest thing to having my own baby,which I cant so Im really stoked. I think it will be hard to give up thr first ones. I may just have to keep the very first one that hatches, no matter what it turns out to be.

ok so took the advise and put my pastel male with her last night. He took immidiate interest. I even took a bit of sperm from my pos het clown and rubbed it on her so that must have really put him in the mood becuase I just checked onn them and they are locked.
The pastel is in shed so I will leave them a day or so then remove him and put my spider with her agian.
The pastel is Cyrus, he is the one from februarys bpom picture contest winner, he feels famous so figures hed better make some babies to to follow in his slither of fame.
My female is even lighter than yesterday.
I sure hope I can get a double sired clutch, spiders and pastels, that will be so cool.
