can you put aluminum
When you are wiring heat tape can you put aluminum tape on the corners that does not have the clamps on it. Or is it only electric? the clamp side i have that plastic cover over the clamp with aluminum tape. just curious if it is fine to do it at the other corners also. Please help.. Thank You!!!!!

Re: can you put aluminum
Hi,
I would use a layer of insulating tape first over the ends and then cover that with the aluminium tape - that should prevent any shock risk.
But it still has the advantage of the heat resistance to stop it coming unstuck later.

Re: can you put aluminum
ok makes since, thank you. Oh i just got my rack all together and put in the flexwatt but am having trouble getting my temp in my tubs above 80. I knew i should have got bigger tape but the only thing i can think of is to raise the temp on the flexwatt. so what is a safe range to put your flexwatt up to before it gets dangerous to either the snake or me???? please help!!!!! thank you

You might get a really detailed answer over on the Caging Fourm. They discuss all aspects of caging, racks, DIY, and heat tape over there.
