    which water bottles?

Hi all hubby finally got my rack built and I just realized I don't have water bottles and have no idea which ones would be the best so would appreciate info on which ones you guys like.

I will try to post pictures soon.

Oh and about the hole in the pans its going to be no problem because it doesn't go in far enough and it also lines up with the cross bars so hubby says it appears they are not going to be able to get to it so I'll keep you all posted on that one.

Also suggestions for litter . I can get rabbit food and also have a tractor supply in town .
Thanks all gota go get rack in house now.

    Re: which water bottles?

Okay guys I found a post that says the Critter canteens are the best so am going to try to get some of those but need to know what size?
Would 32 oz be to big and or 16 oz not big enough.
I am totally clueless on this so would appreciate the help.

Thanks all if all goes well I will hopefully have my ratties by the end of the week!
    Thanks again everyone
    Talk to you all soon.

    Re: which water bottles?

that would depend on the rack and how much room between tubs. obviously with a 16oz bottle youll have to fill it more than a 32oz

Okay all have a problem here. Ferrets, Rabbits
From the info I have found it says the 32 oz is for ferrets, rabbits and other bigger pets.
And the 16 oz says for Chinchillas, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs, Pet Rats.

So I am thinking that maybe the tube size might be different too not just the bottle size.

So wanted to see what you all know about this.

Also can AFS have the same size as regular rats? Or should I get a hamster size one?

I would appreciate help on this as I need to get these ordered so that I can try to get my rats soon.

    Thanks rhsm

the 5/16 tube is good for mice and asfs and smaller rats, but the rats should have the larger tube i think its like 7/16 or close to that. you could get away with the smaller tube for rats also the only problem is typically the bottle size is small

I used to use both they are great one will obvioulsy have to be filled more often than the other.

If you have enough room between the tubs I say go with 32 OZ.

You might also want to look into watering system depending on how big your colony will be you will soon find out that filling up those bottles gets real old real quick.

For the ASF I use the 16 OZ ones without any problems.

    Hi thanks for this info

But I don't know what to do with this cause I can't find tube size anywhere on line for the Critter canteen so I don't know how to use this info.

Is there anyway to help a dope like me. I need it spelled out in the oz size .
I understand the tubes are different sizes but not sure what the 8oz , 16oz and 32 oz size tube are.

The lady I talked to on the phone told me I had to buy 8 oz for ASF and 16 oz for rats.

And like I said I am not sure what to do with the tube size info since I can't find it anywhere and I have to order off line since I can't find bottles anywhere around me.

Sorry to be such a dope on this.
Thanks very much though for putting up with me and helping me out with all this.
