    Some more heat questions..

    Hey everyone!
I have a few more heat/probe placement questions.

As it is starting to warm up outside and now the placement of where i have my herpstat probe is starting to worry me, im not sure if i have it in a great place.
BTW - I am using a heat lamp (the type that only do heat..not light).

Right now i have the probe directly underneath the lamp, on top of the substrate. Its hot glued onto a piece of reflextics (think i spelled that wrong), witch is held in place by the weight of the water bowl.
Is that a good place for it? I have my temps set ok right now, im just more worried about when my apartment warms up during the day will that be a good location for the probe to know that its getting too hot?

had to type this fast, sorry if im not 100% clear on something

    Thank you,
    Mike~

Probe should be placed over the center of the UTH under the substrate.

You want the probe to be in pretty much the hottest place in the enclosure. From your description, it sounds like you have it in the right place. If you are using additional sources of heat other than the heat lamp, then you might need to relocate your probe or have more than one.

However, if "reflextics" means the stuff I am thinking of (sort of like bubble wrap made out of aluminum foil), then I don't know why you would have that inside your enclosure on top of the substrate? So I may not be understanding what you are saying.

I have a small 1" strip that the probe is glued to so that it wont get moved by my BP. Its just sticking out a little off the side of the water bowl (heavy one) so that it cant be moved.

    Thanks for the reply's!!
