The bulkiness of that probe might make it not work well in a lot of reptile situations.

Agree, it's to large to put under a tub.

Wait.....I think thats for aquariums.....most of those have a suction cup for sticking them to the glass. I'd go with something else.

I use these the same way, they work fine. I just put them in my tubs and pile on the substrate.

Well what i was goign to do is stick it to the middle of the ute in the tank with some hot glue or aluminum tape. then put a few layers of newspaper and then aspen like i usually do.

I know tape is a no no. but aluminum tape applied correctly will not come off with out a knife. and with a few layers of news print and aspen it should be fine. i havnt had a snake get under all that to a bare tub yet.

Sounds fine to me. I use low tack artists tape (because I have a crap ton laying around). I put a good layer of aspen on top and I have never had a problem with the snake getting stuck to it. It is just sticky enough to keep it in place. I know some will argue that there should be no tape, but this works for me.

I would use the hot glue method.

    Re: Corra Life digital thermometers

Well, I have an accu-temp sitting on my shelf at work i totally forgot about untill now. i think ill use that to probe the UTH and use the corra life for air temp.

the accutemp will fit on the bottom of the tub and still slide into my rack no issue.

thanks for the input tho guys and gals.

But i do have a question. since heat rises is it more accurate ot have it above the uth?
