    This seem ok?

So my bp likes his cool hide A LOT and i don't know why. The temp on the cool end air is about 80, inside the hide is around 78. I would think this would be too cool for him to be in all the time, but he is. The warm hide isn't far from the cool one, usually around 85-93 (the warmer side of the hide is closer to the heat lamp). I keep thinking that somehow the warm hide is getting too warm, but he was in the warm hide for a whole day two days ago and even if it was a little too warm i would think he would move the hide a little.
Im using the exact same hides, checking the temps with a temp gun, and i have the probe for my accurite placed in the upper right corner of my hide (with hot glue) which usually reads 83-85.

    Am i worrying to much?

    any input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike~

    O, one more thing!

The humidity has been around 58-63, is that too high? Hes not shedding but i got a humidifier two days ago because..well my air was dry lol.
I think the humidity was in the high 40's-low 50's before it.

    Thanks again!

You're being an over cautious owner which is not a bad thing. They key is giving him the appropriate options and letting him decide what he wants. A snake spending all its time in the cool hide is not a problem if the hot side temps are at the right levels. He is probably thermoregulating you just don't happen to see it all the time.

As long as you are sure that your temps are right, then I would not worry about it. Snake thermoregulate, so he most likely just wanted a cooler hide.

Im so paranoid about EVERYTHING when it comes to taking care of him. I figure im keeping him in a tub and half way around the world from where he is suppose to be, the least i can do is make sure everything for him is perfect.

Im going to try to feed him today, then he should go into his warm hide, right?

    Re: This seem ok?

My snakes are generally on the cool side, but after I feed them, they end up on the warm side for a few days to digest. They know what is best for them

If you know that your temps are right, take a breather! Relax!

Good luck with the feeding! I am sure everything will go smoothly

Sounds just about right to me. He has to be somewhere right? If he NEVER used his warm side hide I would have another look at things. See if he goes in there to digest his next meal. If he does I wouldn't worry about it. Some of my guys hang out in their cool hides and some in their warm hides. Depends on the snake.

HE ATE!!!!!!!!!!! HE ATE HE ATE HE ATE!!!!!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After he ate i put em back in his tub, on the cool side, he went into the cool hide and has been in there for about 45min now double checked the warm hide temps, high 80's so idk what his deal is lol

(and yes i know ppl like to keep there bp in there cage when they feed them, please dont hate on me because i didn't. I used long needle noise pliers, held the mouse by the scruff on neck, snake took it before i could finish lowering lol)

Ill keep checking up on him today and see if he moves.

Thanks again for the reply's guys!
