    Appropriate Water Bowl size?

What is the appropriate water bowl size for a 5 month old female BP, just about or over a foot long. Just looking for approximations, as I have a few water dishes but I don't have a Humidity gauge until tomorrow, thanks!

If i'm correct the height of the water should be about 1/2 to 3/4 the snakes "height" or thickness... but I'm not sure how much the amount of water effects humidity. lol Might be over thinking it.

BP's generally dont soak unless they have mites or your humidity is off. just use what ever bowl fits in there nicely and is not tipable.

get a digital guage for you humidity and then if needed you can move bowl as neededto regualt the humidity.

your thinking a little bit to far into this, not that its bad but a decent waterbowl really the only requiremnt. size, shape and look is up to you. just make sure they can drink water from it lol

    Re: Appropriate Water Bowl size?

With ball pythons, water bowl size is determined by humidity levels and needs.... not really the size of the snake. especially when using a tank. as long as the top of the tank is covered appropriately by foil and tape or plexiglass (90% covered), if the humidity is low, you use a larger water bowl.

Other then that, you want to get something heavy enough to it from being tipped over. In my tanks I use medium to large ceramic dog bowls. In my racks I use small crock type plastic bowls that are hot glued to the tub.

Ok cool, thanks guys. She's a baby and I didn't wanna put a bowl in there that she would struggle in, although she's not stupid; guess i'm just a worrywart lol.
