    Question Another thermostat thread

I ordered a Johnson thermostat a few days ago.I ordered 4" Flexxwatt 3 feet long prewired aswell.I have a few questions about setting it up.How do i secure the flexxwatt to the bottom of my wooden rack? How do i secure the thermostat probe to the flexxwatt?Do i secure the probe under a tub or to the sides?I have no idea what to do so any hints/suggestions would be great!!
    Thanks,

Aluminum tape works real good to secure flexwatt to any surface.

Tape the thermostat probe right to the flexwatt.

    Re: Another thermostat thread

I tape the probe directly to the flexwatt. Then I adjust the thermostat to a temp that will maintain a hot spot in the high 80's low 90's inside the tub itself. For instance, I have most of my thermostats set for 95 degrees. When measuring the temps inside the tubs over the hot spot with an infrared temp gun, the temps usually are between 88-90 degrees at the hottest part. I think that taping the probe directly to the heat tape will cause a faster reaction in the thermostat so that it starts heating again before the tub cools down too much.

I use duct tape for securing the probe. It's designed to work under those kinds of temps.
