if geckos are allowed, why not just throw a couple hatchling balls in a box, and when you drop it off, call it a few geckos?

Re: i have to get Certified to ship repitle with UPS??
Hi,
Because it is against their terms and conditions and if they feel it is a problem they might stop shipping any reptiles or exotics alltogether.
And that is assuming nothing goes wrong and ends up with escaped/ misdelivered snakes on the news giving those who want to ban or moderate the hobby even more ammunition.
And isn't there a law about shipping under false information?

Re: i have to get Certified to ship repitle with UPS??
you will be able to ship snakes with ups very soon from what i have read. thanks to pro exotics. the following was copyed from the net.
www.shipyourreptiles.com
Chad and Robyn- Pro Exotics- have cooked up a pretty neat deal with UPS to let you ship your reptiles (NON VENOMOUS) through UPS. Up until this point UPS has only had a pilot program to try out the idea. On March 16th the shipyourreptile and allproshipping sites are due to launch. I spoke to both Chad and Robyn at great length about his site and some of the problems that have been encountered with similar previous attempts a few weeks ago. These guys have it covered! Everything I could think to throw at them they had answers for. I have been working with the PE family for a few years now and they really are professional and well meaning people and I don’t see how this can go wrong. Now that Chad is retired, well really retired, and on the scene full time I see only more and more exciting things on the horizon. After all, Robyn can’t do it all
Looks like you will not need to become “certified” through UPS, simply sign up on the website, watch the instructional videos and you are off and running. No more “business to business only” restriction that you have with FedEx.

Re: i have to get Certified to ship repitle with UPS??
Frankly i would not ship anything thru UPS because they are idiots who damage ALOT of packages .Then they try to lie and get out of paying for them.I wonder if pro exotics is going to pay for lost reptiles?

The same can be said about FedEx - They don't care about the contents of the packages, they just want to get things shipped quickly.
I don't suppose there's any proof that FedEx treats their packages better than UPS, and vice versa. I think everyone has received damaged packages from UPS AND FedEx. I see mixed reviews all the time.

I don't see why Pro Exotics would pay for the reptiles. That would be between the shipper and UPS, IMO.

Every package i had come from UPS was damaged.I know someone that works for them and said they throw packages down the line to get them moved faster.

I bet they will have a clause stating they will not be held liable for lost or damaged packages that contain reptiles .I can say for a fact FEDEX goes above and beyond to correct a lost package.
