    Dakota Arrived today

    i had corn snakes before but moved to BPs only. now here i am back with this girl.

    I walked down to BHB to get her today. Paid 30$ for this lil girl, thats eating hoppers/sm adult mice.

    im not huge on corn snake morphs. but what makes my girl amel and not albino

    Amel is short for Amelanistic (Lack of Melanin). This is just one of the types of albinism in corns.

    To add more to what Demon280z said, amel is sometimes called "red albino" and anery is sometimes called "black albino". I've even heard someone call a snow an albino, but I think that was more of that person being mistaken than an accepted name for the morph.

    Amel or amelanistic seems to be the most popular name, probably partly because it is the most scientifically correct, and partly because it is less ambiguous than albino.
