I have been using paper towels for bedding. I was at a reptile show today and saw the aspin bedding. I decided it was time I tried it. So I got a bag. I have used up 2/3's the bag. How deep do you usually make the bedding? I put enough to cover the bottom well but not a lot. I am hoping to get better control of my humidity. This is my rack.
The bottom shelf is not being used. You can see my Herpstat and my Herpstat ND on the first 2 shelves. I have a Johnson controlling the next 4 shelves (each shelf has 1 11" pannel and they are linked togeather). I am hoping to get a Herpstat pro so each shelf can have it's own sensor.
The two shelf's that have the Herpstats on them have 3" tape running all the way across the back of the shelf's.
I am having a difficult time getting the temps warm enough. They are either too hot on the hot side and ok on the cool side or ok on the hot side and way too cool on the cold side. I am thinking of betting TWO herpstat pros' so I can have a warm cool side and a warm warm side. The temps in the house are not always stable and we heat with a wood stove. It is usually low 70 in the day and 60's at night.
My ASF's are on the top shelf. As you can see 5 of the shelf's are metal and 2 wood. Will that make a difference in my temps? Should I mist the bedding to raise up the humidity?
