    Flexwatt and thermostat questions???

Okay here goes. I have an undertank heater for my Ball python, and it works fine but i have spent some time on these forums reading on flexwatts and thermostats. And i just wanted to know exactly what they are, how they work, are they worth investing in, and where i might get some fairly priced ones? Sorry for my excessive questions, i am an aspiring ball python hobbyist and i want my bp to be as happy and comfortable as snakely possible
