    Snake Droped from Sky

went out side and as i was getting into my car i hear a hawk then a thud. i look over in the street and there was a snake. i dont know why this snake was out on the move being it was only 60oF today. anyways its a Fox snake which is endangered in my state. There's reported less that 100 in my area. Anyways i contacted DNR and they have a snake analyst coming tomorrow morning to pick up the snake to do research on it.

Awww poor thing was grabbed by a bird of prey? Hope it survives the injury and the shock and the DNR folks are able to rehab and release it.

Looked in the pics like a big injury, yes birds of prey definitely love to eat snakes, (think about it, easy prey comparatively) Sad to hear it was already deceased, but I can say that it's a good thing you called an agency with the animal being endangered and all. Maybe this sad situation can help to further the survival of this species in your area..

I don't see what's so bad about it. This is nature people. Hawks eat snakes, and they don't care if it's endangered or not.

Kudos to you calling a rescue agency.

I just don't think like "poor snake" because this is what happens.
