You wanna calculate your Herps Electricity costs? Check this out.

So I saw a thread about the cost to maintain Electricity for your Ball pythons. And I have been using a calculator for years to check all sorts of electrical costs........ Just check it out if you need it and I am sure you can benefit from it....Just thought I'd share it for anyone who wants the down low on the not so low electricity rates...lol

Cool Re: You wanna calculate your Herps Electricity costs? Check this out.

FYI this should be easy to figure out. All you need is to know what rate your electric company charges and enter it at the top. and say for instance you use a radiant heat panel for 12 hours a day, enter that anywahere that replaces one of the pieces of equipment on the left, and the 12 hours where the hour spot is. and a 24 watt heat matt, enter that also....do this for all your racks, tanks, and it will give u a calculation for how much your electricity is costing you. Goodluck!

Funny thing is I Had several Reef aquariums, and I got rid of most of them due to outrageous energy prices, My tanks were costing 150$ a month....
And Now I got into ball pythons and am running hundreds of watts for racks, mats, bulbs...lol

if you use a herpstat or a helix it ranges from 30% power to 40% so you gotta make sure you account for that and not just enter the wattage of the heating device
