    Our 2nd ball python

Today I got up kind of early. I normally wake up around 9 am, and my wife always gets up at 6am lol . Normally I head into the office around 9:30 or so. Meanwhile today I have to attend a few college baseball games, so I did not go in today. I knew my day was going to be busy, I had to fax all the Major League teams bio’s of two free agents that I still have. I figured we would run up to a local pet store to buy Samara her frozen meal. I normally feed her frozen meals and once in a while get her live mice for the Vitamin B. Unfortunately they were all sold out. So we went to a different store across town.

I had my wife and Samara with me. My wife saw that this store has had the same ball python for 8 months. We have seen it many times, although at the time my wife said one is enough. She grew up with her father saving wild boa’s. So I was lucky I got one. The store owner said you want one more? I can not sell this python for some reason. Most people want little babies and she is 1 year and a half years old. My wife started to hold him and I was holding my baby python (8months old).

She looked at me and said “we will take it…” I was shocked… This new python is a little larger than Samara. Although Samara I believe is much prettier. But this new one is different. My wife gets home and I started to take a few pictures before putting her in her new home. We saw she has the number 8 on her spine.. Since no python is the same pattern, my wife said this one will be mine.. Maybe one day I will bread the two. They both have about 2 more years to go..

It's a really bad idea to take your ball python to a pet store and then handle other snakes. Can lead to mite infections as well as RI etc....
Also if you plan on feeding same day its a good idea to do minimal handling
You are quarantining the new snake I take it? Temps, humidity, bedding, tank info?
    They are housed separately right?

    Enjoy the snake
