    How long after feeding

    Hey everyone

After a recent vet visit, I learned that my baby bp was slightly impacted, all came out well (catch my pun) after a little "squeeze" from the vet.

But I am noticing she is looking a little "plump" which make me think that I haven't found defecates in her tank.

My question is: how long after feeding (in this case a fuzzy) would a baby bp go to the bathroom? Within a few days? a week?

Thanks in advance to any replies

    Re: How long after feeding

Our babies tend to go several weeks between deficating. But when they do its usually a big one. It takes several days before your snake fully digest the fuzzy or what ever size animal you are feeding. But just like in humans it takes a little build up for whats in your stomach to exit. So when the poop it usually is several meals all in one. Some people do get lucky and have them poop weekly but i don't see that very often in my snake room.

    Re: How long after feeding

it all depends on the bp, they all have their own little "schedules" basically they are like us, they poo when they need to. I have a babie that goes every other week pretty much right on. and I have a adult that goes once a month or so... not really sure but they are all different.

Feeding fuzzies it might take awhile. Fuzzies are too small for a baby BP anyway, you can start them right out on adult mice or rat pups.

I have one who goes about every 3 weeks, and one who goes every 6 days or so. Every BP is a little different.

    Re: How long after feeding

pretty surprised the vet would "squeeze" some out... pretty sure that was the WRONG thing to do. A ball python poops when it wants to. I have one that literally poops like every 6 weeks at the most and she NEVER misses a meal.

Consider it a blessing and leave the poor thing alone! Has anyone ever tried to rush you when you were on the can? If so, how did it feel???!!!!

    Re: How long after feeding

    To Mike:

The vet mainly "squeezed" her to get a fecal sample because she was looking a little ill. I did not go to the vet because I thought she was impacted, I went to have her vent checked out because it wasn't looking very good, and to have a wound looked at.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I should've mentioned that.

Also,I went to the vet after posting pictures on here, and was advised numerous times to see the vet.

Thanks for the quick reply though

To Everyone: Thank you for the comments, and advice, I will rest easier knowing that is it not uncommon for ball pythons to go for what seems like a long time without going to the bathroom.

    Thanks
