what kind of dwarf do i have?

i bought a "dwarf ball python" from a friend. alot of ppl seem to know a little more about them. i know mine came from teresina, brazil and its very pretty. he's supposed to only get 44 in or so..... i want to breed him but i need to know what kind he is first. I will post pics of him at a later time as i cant locate my camera. any tips, help or just general knowledge would be awesome. thanks

    Ball Python from Brasil?

Sounds like you've got something other than a Ball Python. Post pictures when you can, sounds like you have something that will get bigger than you think.

Ball pythons don't come from the Americas, and there are no dwarf ball pythons. I'm sure others will be more helpful, but it sounds like you have some kind of small locallity boa. Do you have pictures?

Ditto that. Ball Pythons are from Africa.

Re: what kind of dwarf do i have?

i changed my avatar to a good pic of my snake.. while looking at the preloaded pics i noticed that my snake looks more like a bp than a boa... so i guess if i dont have a dwarf how big can i expect it to get?

They can get up to about 6', but most stay between 3.5 - 4.5'. Nice looking ball python you got.

It is a Ball Python but not a dwarf and not from Brazil like the person led you to believe.

The average size of BP is 3 to 5 feet, females being larger than males.
