You have a dark one there. There some nice light ones I have found that are a light shade of brown to a copper colour. They might not be one of the best looking snakes but they have a great attitude, majority of the ones that you find out in the bush won't even bite.

I like house snakes... not sure I will ever get one, but they are a nice little snake from my limited experiences with them.

    Thanks for posting.

I had one of these for years, such a pretty snake! Very iridescent after a shed, almost like a mini columbian rainbow boa. These guys are agressive constrictors too, puts most other colubrids to shame.

hehehe you think that dark one is ugly.. I thought the same thing when I got mine. Now I love 'em. I am breeding Capensis(albinos morphs), Fuliginosus(pastel morphs) and Maculatus(nice red looking one).

As far as biting, babies bite like hell when you hold them.. You have to let them lay there or crawl. Once they feel a grip whack!.. Oh and the younger ones don't like being held behind the head. Only my adults allow this and just my big female adults. I think I got more bites from these fast high strung snakes then any other species combined. I went through a learning period.
