What weight do you keep your males at for breeding?

I was Just curious what weights (if any) everyone tries to keep their males at for breeding (not looking for what weight do you try breeding at but what weight if any do you try to KEEP your males at for breeding). I understand the concept of keeping an athletic size male but I was wondering if people shoot for a number or a round about number? For example: I like all my males no matter what age to be around 600g. Or: I like all my males to not get over 1000g no matter what age because over a 1000g. makes a slugish breeder. Or: I don't care how big they are as long as they breed. Those are just a couple examples to let you guys/girls know what I am looking for as a response. Please feel free to go into depth with your answer. Thanks for your answers and opinions!!!!

I would say around 1000 grams give or take.

I try to keep a certain look; a width to length proportion that looks healthy but doesnt make you think 'fatty'. You dont want to send a male into brumation without enough body fat to make it thru until he starts eating again, especially if he's breeding lots and burning it up making little swimmers and courting.

My biggest male is ~1200g. I would have no problem taking them up to 1500g or more depending on length and body type. I have several males who seem to stay around 900 to 1000g; but they like to breed more than they like to eat. They'd breed all year if I let them lol

It all depends on the male.. I've got a Pastel that hangs around 1600 grams even when he breeds. Then my spider male he looses weight and goes from like 1100 down to like 750..

So it all depends on the animal and what I know they can handle

My three males that are breeding the best are between 900 and 1,100 grams.

Then I have two young males breeding who are in the 450 gram area.

This is my approach as well. Typically that's around 900-1000g for a 2nd winter male. Atleast that's what size range I have the most success with and they seem to be the most vigorous.

I've only bred one male this year but my personal rule is not to breed a male unless he's at least 500g.
