It's been a long and terrible day.
So, since everyone else rants, I felt like maybe I could too.
I've been kinda in a bad mood for the past week cause the little leopard gecko didn't make it.. she never ate well and I had always hand fed her.. Just before she died, a large bruise like triangle showed up on her abdomen..
Today everything just went down hill. My second leo is looking kinda down and seems to have that odd bruise (I'm not sure if it's normal or not) and I came home to find my butter motley baby corn snake dead, for an unknown reason. Always a good eater and never seemed like anything was wrong.
I got a new shipment of rodents, in which I've already thrown out 5 because 3 of my snakes did not eat, and I accidentally overcounted.. one of which is my Sand Boa which I'm worrying about, because he's never been a good eater and is thinning up a little.
Both of my docile corn snakes freaked out and bit me.
And my reduced girl is having a very bad shed, even soaking didn't get it all off.
So I've had a bad day. If you've read it I appreciate it. I'm also very sick with strep throat and feel like dirt right now.
Thanks guys.

Re: It's been a long and terrible day.
And while she slept, sore throat forgotten while tired eyes saw naught, The Fecal Fairies came to call.
Little things they are, scant 4 inches most times, green and blue, orange and red but never brown. Four wings transparent but coloured like a fine stainedglass work, they dappled everything around them having a light shine from within to illuminate that without.
Long of leg, though still so small, agile fingers loosen clasps and sift through shavings, muscles bulging wings a shimmer with a wink and a spin poops all gone and clean cages glimmer.
Away they go, zipping in loops and wild gyrations as in tromp the Wall Space Thwarts, they who defeat that which shouldn't win. Spices and blends, herbs and stones, feathers and seeds, roots and berries mixed just to into elixirs of health and wellbeing, tincture tincted and poultices poulted, all with a soft deep thrum of a hum from they who seldom venture into the open, preferring instead the safety of security brought about by steady sturdy walls all about.
Big Black Boots with laces running high make no sound at all as they cavort and caper, turning summersaults and cartwheels, pyramiding up and over as they too leave, elixer elicted and ill feelings tied up tight then set to right, disappearing forever down a hole never seen as the dance continues and the sounds not heard disappear from view leaving only a sleeping happily, breathing easily, not worried any morily.....you.
Sorry you don't feel well.
Hope you feel better.
Watch where you step if you get up in the middle of the night. Sometimes the Thwarts get carried away and lose track of time.

Wes, I never know what you're going to write, but I always know it'll be entertaining.
Jess, I vote for a group hug. I hope you feel better. Nothing can bum you out like a genuinely bad day, and being sick on top of all the things that have happened doesn't help at all.
Nothing can make you feel worse than the loss of a pet, but you have to tell yourself it wasn't your fault, and there's nothing you could've done. It's all going to be ok. Just get up and try again tomorrow.

I am sorry that this is going on.
I do not know much about communicable diseases with geckos, is there any way your little gecko had something?

Thanks Wes. I'll make sure to look out for them.
And I can honestly say that made me smile more than I have all day.

Thank you, I don't know if it was my fault or not though, sometimes things just happen, but I could've overlooked something.

I looked up as much as I could. Nothing too out of the ordinary was happening, at least things I thought could be symptoms weren't. She just never thrived, which is terribly sad, because she was beautiful.

dont beat your self up. my first beardie died after 3 months, the vest suspected impact. which makes sence he used to dive off his stick into the side of the tank multimple times a day. usualy they do it a few times and then they smarten up... but this little guy just wasnt bright i was pretty upset because i really liked the little guy and wanted him to become large and beable to wander the house... but he didnt make it. i got a new one a few weeks later. and he is doing quite well thankfully.

Thank you, I'm sorry your beardie didn't make it. Thats so sad it died like that.
I emailed the leo breeder since I got him less than a month ago, and emailed Brian at BHB to tell him the news about his motley.. I don't expect a refund, just closure I suppose.
I've been wanting a hognose.. and a black motley.. but I don't think the black motley would be compatible to breed with my type A snow corn. D:
