Space heaters
Hi,
When I move back to Holland in 2 years I'll be needing a small space heater to keep my room in the low 70s. The rooms there can get to low 60s, which is too cold for me to keep the right temps.
So pretty much what I need is a heater that heats a maximum of 10 degrees. Do space heaters have adjustments knobs, or are they on full throttle? What space heaters would you guys recommend?

Re: Space heaters
I am not sure what it is called, but the space heater we have at work has a digital setting area to set it to the temperature u want, then it shuts off once its that hot, and turns on if it cools off.
I would google it but some other people here might have specifics for you

Sounds like that'd be quite pricey... I'm looking for something <80

Re: Space heaters
Dutch, take a look at an oil filled radient heater. They give off great heat, and are pretty economical to run. I use one to keep my snake room at the right ambient during the winter time. If you can't find one with a digital temp setting, you could always tape a spare Herpstat to it with aluminum tape. and plug it in through the Herpstat.
Speaking of plugs, I know you know this, but you'll need an adapter for the US style plug for the Euro outlets.

Yeah I'm aware, but I think the heaters are gonna be cheaper over here.
Does your heater have temp control? I don't have any spare stats, but then again the temp doesn't have to be perfect.
I've found that there's very little variation in cage temperatures in my room, whether the room temps are 70 or 75.

Re: Space heaters
The heater I have does have temp control on it, but it' a dial, so it's not an exact science. I got my heater at Lowe's for about $40.
I try to keep my snake room at about 78-80 degress, and then let the Herpstat on the heat tape take if from there to keep the tubs a constant temp.

Re: Space heaters
Yeah I'll be fine with a dial, like I said room temperature does not affect cage temps drastically.
Thanks man.

Re: Space heaters
There are thousands of space heaters to choose from. People have to use them where I live. Even in Texas I would imagine that Home Depot and Lowe's would have a good selection for you to look at. You may have a different electrical current in Holland than we have here (AC) and may have to buy one over there I don't know for sure.
