Alder Wood?
hey everybody .... anybody here ever use alder wood in a cage ?... i managed to pick up some cabinet doors for cheap that have glass centres and wooden frames, but im not sure how the wood will hold up to the humidity or for that matter if it will have any other adverse effects on my BP

Re: Alder Wood?
I don't think Alder is known as a sappy wood, so I can't see it off-gassing much. If you seal the wood and let it all dry completely, I don't think you'll have any issues....well, no more issues than you would have with any wood enclosure.

Re: Alder Wood?
I've used alder many times.
Just seal it up and you'll be fine.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Re: Alder Wood?
I always used varathane. There are several types available.
Two coats minimum and you're set.
