What size of a freezer for food items? (5 snakes)

I'm going to be getting a mini freezer for my snake's food items since I kinda don't want them hanging around with my roommate and my own food in the normal freezer. I have 3 snake and will probably end up getting 2 more (3 males, 2 females) and it's kind of between:

    3.6

I've yet to find anything in the mid range between these two (I was looking more toward a 2.0~2.5') so should I go more compact or larger?

either will work, depends on how many rats you are going to order. Frozen vacuum sealed rats will last for very long time and you usually get a discount for larger orders.

Stock up for a maximum amount of time as 6 months. You don't want to keep rodents for longer than that.
Make sure the freezer bags are properly sealed at all times, if not it will cut down the life of the frozen prey item drastically.
    5 snakes X 4 feed per month X 6 months = 120 rats maximum.
You can fit that into a sweater box rubbermaid.
So use that for size comparison.

Depending on your order and from who. There are a few people around here that order by the year. The rats are vacuum sealed and are fine. Once opened you cut that time frame down quite a bit though.

I would get the one that suits your needs, go with the one that will fit in the area you want to put it. you dont want open space in it all the time, that makes it run more often. The fuller the freezer the more efficient the freezer.

I ended up getting the 1.3, by the way. I'm quite sure that will be sufficient for my needs at around 20 inches on each side.
