    dual hinged door

ok well ive been thinking long and hard on a new cage im planning on making in the very near future for my BP. anyways i was trying to figure out a design that would make it easier to clean and access the inside and may have come up with something. ill try to post sketches asap. but illl do my best to explain it, ok well the basic dimenions will be around 3' x2' x 2'. the sides, back n bottom will be solid and the top and from will be framed glass. the top and front will be hinged so that the front folds up- to change out water or get out the snake - and then top and front can bee flipped up so that there will be total access for cleaning or if the snake gets a lil stuborn abd dont wanna come out. anyone understand what im saying lol ... or have input on wheather this is a good idea ??

I get what you are saying and it sounds like a good idea, I can't see any problems with it. You just plan to have the front glass and the top area solid wood right?

well since i use a ir heat bulb to up the ambinate temp i was thinkin in would be easier to have the top glass as well, that way it would heat up the cage evenly... was there a specific reason why i shouldnt use glass on the top ??

ya i just like the idea that if the top swings up outta the way itll make cleaning a breeze. the only thing i gotta work out is a way to lock the lid in place securely

Keep the front framed glass, but got the top maybe do a framed in screen area that you could just sit your lamps on. As far as locking, you should just need one simple latch at the bottom of the front. For my RTB's cage I wanted to do sliding glass doors but can not find the glass track anywhere, so maybe I'll consider using your idea.
