How heating tapes work for racks??

    Hi
Before, I only had one bp and I keep her in a glass tank with heat lamp. Now Im getting 3 more and already planning to get another one when I have money.

I want to build a rack now.

So the shelf racks and tubs are understood. But how do the heat tapes set up? Seems like probe, tapes and all of the whatevers are sold separately. What do I need to buy to have it all properly working?

Any tips and advice will be appreciated. Im totally new to the rack system. Thanks in advance.

If you are ordering one online then they will probably already have it built in for you, however you will need a thermostat to control it, and probably some aluminium based tape to tape it to your heating source.

If you are building your own I would suggest:

    http://www.reptilebasics.com/Flexwat...p-1-c-297.html

Here is a video of setting flexwatt up. And when he starts talking about "home run" and "daisy chain" you want "home run." Do not cut your plug off, you want the wire to go straight from the outlet to each flexwatt strip.

And here is another guide for setting it up.

And here is Bean Farm's section on it, you can read the various PDFs on setting it up as well

Thanks for that site, I'm thinking I'm gonna get the $195 rack w/ different option (not the sweater rack one).

I like that it is plastic, no cutting or screwing necessary.
