Just saw the movie "Taken"
Man, in my opinion, that was one awesome movie! I'm not very good with children or teen-agers getting hurt in a movie - my "mother" emotions get the better of me and it gets me really disturbed that I can't finish a movie.
But this one, for some reason, I didn't get a chance to dwell on the teen-ager's misfortune... the movie moved soooo fast that one minute, the girl is taken, and the next minute the dad is kicking some serious buns! I went from, "Oh no!", to "Go Dad Go!" in one breath.
When I got up after the movie ended, my stomach hurt so bad like I was doing 1000 sit-ups from clenching my stomach for most of the movie with all the thrilling action. I really like Liam Neeson too, though. He was the perfect actor for that character. He has that intensity and grace to him that made that movie very believable.
One tip if you're going to watch it. Be sure to pee first. There's no part in the movie where you can take a leak without missing something.
Definitely worth the $10 prime time tickets and overpriced large popcorn and large drink. PG-13, people get bloody, and there's some prostitution going on. I wouldn't take the little kiddos to this one.
P.S. For the international set - Albanians are portrayed as the bad guys, the French police is portrayed as corrupt, and the Shieks are the opportunistic women abusers. So, you will need to remember, it's just a movie.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
