Resorbed Follicles?
Hi Everyone,
A while ago I made a post regarding this, but I'm still sort-of concerned. I have a female ball python who laid me an 8-egg clutch last year. She and my male pastel bred almost every day they were together at the start of the season, but now she shows no interest in him. She is still feeding and shows no signs of ovulation. Could she have possibly resorbed her follicles? I'm just confused. Thanks.

Last year she laid around mid-February, but I started the season a month late this year.

If she is not interested in him she might be getting ready to go. Has she lightened up her color? Some snakes will keep feeding, you may have missed the ovulation, it could be as quick as 8 hours. I would count down 30 days after she sheds just in case she is gonna lay.

I am seeing a little bit a a "glow", she's pretty bright anyway so it's more subtle with her. On second thought, she didn't stop eating until right before she laid last year, but I'm still not seeing any signs of her building?

Relieved to read that your girl kept on eating until almost dropping the eggs last year. All the signs of one of my girls being gravid but as she is still eating - always was a piggy - I had been worried, not now... Good really as that means that she will not lose condition through breeding.
