is there anyone you could leave your ball python with until you come home? Or are you going to be living there permanently? ): that's tough.

I have to study there so I will be gone for at least 6 years which is almost a quarter of his life. So sadly I can't so I will be on the lookout for someone who wants to buy a mojo and will give him a good home

    Re: [Ticket#200901272029903] Snakes‏
    From: Enquiries English (enquiries.english@zoll.de)

Dear Mr Barsch, Unfortunately ball python (phyton regius) is an endangered species and therefore mentioned in Annex II of theConvention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) and Annex B of the EU-regulation on endangered species. You need an export permit issued by the CITES authorities in the USA and an import permit issued by the German FederalAgency for Nature Conservation (http://www.bfn.de/0305_cites+M52087573ab0.html). You can find this informtion on the WISIA website: http://www.wisia.de/index.en.html Moreover snakes have to be checked by veterinarians at the border although they do not need special veterinary documents. You could import the snakes within the normal duty free limit of (at the moment) 430 euros. I advise that you check on the details (again) shortly before you move to Germany. For legal reasons this information can only be given to the best of our knowledge and is non-binding. Hello, I am moving to Germany in three years for University and I was wondering if I am able to import 2-3 Ball Pythons? Alsowhat would the fee be? I have looked at your website and am having difficulty distinguishing which snakes are illegal and which are not. Regards,> Till Barsch

I couldn't find the CITES paperwork on google, but I'm sure a better searcher could. That should be all you need to take your bp's with you. I know there are some users here from Germany and I know at least one of them has BP's. Just try and find those forms and you should be golden.

    Re: Can't keep my BP

It looks like your best course of action would be to find a breeder in your area that ships overseas on occasion. Pay them the money for the CITES permit and get him to ship the animal once you have arrived in Germany.
CITES from Canada to the states or vice-versa is around $150.
Not sure how that would translate in your situation but I can't see it being much different.
    Hope this idea helps.

Germany is 430 euros about $560 plus the vet checkup at the boarder. I hope the owner finds a good home.
