Almost finished.

We put in the vinyl flooring last night, sealed and caulked it tonight. (Caulking is absolutely NO fun without that nifty "smooth edge every time" tool. If you decide to do this, get one!

I also hung the greenery from the ceiling. All other decorations and hides and such will go in when the snakes do, but these had to be put in before-hand.

The "hardware":

Zip-ties, attached to the vines, attached to the mounting base:

Then attached to the ceiling:

The vines have some give so that if the snakes decide to climb up there, they won't end up hanging themselves:

The finished product:

24 hours from now I'll start temp testing (flex-watt runs under the vinyl flooring), and hopefully by the next day the snakes can go in. Any ideas for improvements? Oh, and should the snakes somehow miraculously manage to dirty the vines (and I'm sure they will...) the zip-ties can be cut and the vines brought down for cleaning. It's a lot of extra work, but it's just two snakes (not 24 or something like you guys all have.) so I figured it was worth the work to get the look. We're also going to be putting in some sort of wood or metal trim along the top edge of the vinyl to make it look nice and "finished."

Tell me what you think!
