    Bad shed

I have a male BP that's almost 1.5 years old. He has been eating wonderfully. His temps and humidity have been great. Increased humidity recently because he had blue eyes. He is housed in a rack, just in case that matters.

About 5 days after he had blue eyes we looked in on him. That was about 4 days ago. Evidently he had tried to shed, but didn't do a good job of it. He managed to get the old skin off of most of his head, including his eyes, and part of his tail. The rest of him is still covered in the old skin. I have been keeping his humidity up in hopes that he would shed the rest, but he hasn't.

I have let him go through a wet towel on a couple of occasions with no luck. I tried to pull a little of the old skin off of his tail once, but it didn't seem to want to come off.

This is my first bad shed ever. I'm concerned about him. What should I do?

    Re: Bad shed

Give him a bath/soak for 30 mins in lukewarm water.

    Then help him shed.

That's all there is to it.

OR, put him in a moist pillowcase for an hour.

    Should get it all off.
