Carpet Python - Coastal or Jungle?

I received this girl, with enclosure, for free. My boyfriend's coworker's husband (say that 3 times fast) was diagnosed with cancer and gave away all his herps since he didn't feel he was going to be able to take care of them during treatment.

I'm not all that up to speed on carpets. He had said that it was a jungle. I'm not so sure she isn't a coastal, she's a little on the big side. I'm hoping someone with a better eye for carpets will be able to tell me...since I want to at least KNOW for certain what she is.

She's in blue right now, so colors are dull. Any help with this one?

Definitely not a Jungle. She is a Coastal or a Coastal x Iranian Jaya cross.

i disagree, looks like a nice aberrant patterned coastal to me... maybe some diamond blood somewhere along the line, but not too many people do diamond x coastal.

I don't see much IJ in there...the pattern looks like it it outlined, especially the the dorsal spots. And with there is heavy tipping going on in there which make me think there is Diamond in there as Colin stated. My guess is she is DiamondxCoastal. Nice animal you got!

Re: Carpet Python - Coastal or Jungle?

Thank you all for your input. I didn't realize there was so many subspecies to carpets. I've been researching like mad.

I had been looking at a lot of Coastal cross photos and wondered about there being some kind of Diamond influence. I hadn't even heard about Diamonds until I got this girl. If anything it's been a fascinating education!

Thanks for the compliments on her, I'm really excited and happy to have her. She's beautiful no matter what her lineage.

    Cheers!

Great site for all the carpet info you need! Forums are broken up into the different subspecies and they have a integration forum too so you can get an idea of what the different crosses look like.
