Weird Shed Cycle

Weird thing happened to me this week...

I check on all of our snakes at least once a day, usually twice....fill water, spot clean, etc.

We have 1.1 Het Albino BCI's and on Tuesday or Wednesday, the girl was deep in blue stage of the shed cycle. B/c of this, I was expecting the boy to start his shed cycle sometime this week or next, since he is a little smaller. The girls eyes cleared up yesterday, but today I go in to check on them and one of them had shed. Heres the kicker....it was the boy. No belly pinkness, no blue eyes....just shed. 100% healthy, one piece, no stuck shed.

Any ideas?

No ideas huh....I thought it would be a longshot. I still have no idea what happened, so I am going to attribute it to a wormhole...Baal went through a time warp into his shed cycle, then came back and shed....yup...makes sense.

you missed the blue eye...simple.

If that is the case, his eyes were blue no longer than ~18 hours or so. Seems really short to me, usually their eyes are blue for 2 days, minimum.

I agree this is probably the most likely cause, but it still seems strange.

Especially if they are growin really quick, as the young ones do....it wouldnt be impossible to imagine that you missed it.

I don't know about you but I can never tell when mine are in shed unless I'm looking for it. IE looking at their tails to see if the black areas are going blue. Their eyes don't even change at all o.O

Maybe they were racing and your lil boy decided to kick butt and win

I have never had a shed cycle get past me, but I guess there is always a first. Usually their eyes (for my boas, and my bps...lesser extent our corns) are blue, and very blue, for a good 2 days. Whenever I handle I check the bellies for pinkness to indicate shed as well....this is very easy to spot in our bp and our male boa, but can be a little tough on our female boa since she has so much salmon'y pink throughout her body. Apart from this, their bodies always look dull and lose the shine and shimmer they usually get in the light, which is actually my biggest indicator overall.

I guess I just missed this one, and it must have been a quick cycle this time around.
