    Do you think he's okay?

Hot home today and looked into the snakes cage and saw that he had knocked the thermometer off the interior wall and got stuck to it in two places from the sticky velcro backing.

I picked him up and slowly peeled them off like a band aid and it looked painful. He's acting normal but what else could I have done?

It was stuck like an inch away from it's head to a couple inches down!

I know he was like this for maybe a few hours!

God I feel like a jerk

this is why you absolutely DO NOT use adhesives or tape inside of the enclosures.

You:How many snakes do you have?
Me: Oh, just a room full.
    You:Eh, how many?

100% agreed ... learned the hard ... my ball got into a fight with some packing tape and was lookin pretty mangled for aleast to sheds ... totally felt like crap the whole time ... but a good way to help the snake in a situation like this use some water or even better mineral oil to help loosen the adhesive

Does it look like he lost any scales or anything?

Does not look like he's missing any scales and for what I can see his skin does not look all stretched out in those spots anymore.

I wish I didn't use this adhesive, but as you can see by reading my posts I am a rookie!!!!

    Thanks for the advice

And that's why most of recommend the Acu-Rite indoor/outdoor thermostat/hygrometer. You don't need to use the adhesive on any of it. They're much easier to use as well. -Smiles.- We are here to help, and we've all made these mistakes.

    Just learn from them. ^_^

Re: Do you think he's okay?

I use industrial velcro that once stuck - is dang near impossible to unstick. I totally agree that tape does not belong in an enclosure as well as cheap velcro that peals off. If you ever run into a situation involving tape or adhesive again (hopefully you won't now that you know what can happen) a good soak in warm water with some vegetable oil will help loosen the tape so you won't end up with missing scales.
