    Rat Racks

    Hey everyone, Just started today building a mommy rack. Its the smaller one let me know what you think. Its for mommys and the babys. And the larger rack is the breeding rack. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks andrew

    View from the Top im a little worried the tubs are small but they moms seem to like it.

    Looks pretty good to me man. On your "momma racks" are they just sitting on top of that bar on the bottom to keep them in there or is there some sort of rail that I'm not seeing? Not a bad idea if it works . I'd be kind of worried about putting a mother with a big litter in something that small though, once they're a few weeks old before being weaned that would be a VERY cramped tub for all of them.

    Thanks for your thoughts. yea its just that one bar, but its really tight against the top but i keep checking every couple of hours haha. I just put them in today so its still a work in progress. I will move them out when babies are about to open their eyes. Im thinking of ways to make it safer i dont want any moms getting out. My girl would kill me

    Just my opinion, I think 6 qt tubs are far too small for a mother and her litter.

    Racks look good....I also think its cool that you can have your water heater in the garage and have no worries of it freezing!

    Thank you connie i was waiting for you to answer. I think im going to bump them up to the small litter box size. Thanks for the input ive been waiting for what the wise connie would say hahahahahahaha.

    the rack really looks good i've been trying to decide what rack i going to build and so far yours looks the easiest you need to to a plan by plan for this rack

    I agree with Connie. Look at the first pic, mama butt takes up like 75% of the width of the tub.

    We used the van ness large litter size tubs for our maternity rack. Seems just to be the perfect size.
