Hi everyone,

Just got my first ball (Ronin) this past Saturday. Ronin is about 3 1/2 months old and about 24" long. Haven't probed yet so, don't yet know the sex. Ronin is a normal.

I've had several reptiles over the years from corns to blue tongue skinks.

Currently in my collection I have 2 unsexed Bluetongues named Igor and Odin, and my ball Ronin.

My only concern is Ronin has a bit of stuck shed, since I just got her, I don't know when the last shed was or how long it's been stuck. The shed is stuck on the neck, around the mouth and on one of the eyes. This concerns me because of the chance of infection. What I currently have setup is a high humdity hide on the heat side of the tank. I plan to soak her on in a tupperware container for a couple of hours once I get home from work.

Here is the tank counditions.

Cold side: 80.5 degree
Hot side: 94.8 degrees
Hides: 2 one on each side.
Humdity: 35%

Thanks for the note, I have been trying to up the humidity. It's a bit hard here in Colorado as the air is naturally very dry. I have been misting in the morning and evening, placing the water bowl on the warm side, blocking the vent but, still seems 35% is as high as I'm able to maintain, that is why I put the humid hide in.

Try putting a damp (not dripping) natural sponge in the tank, preferably near the heat source. Re-moisten as it dries out.

you should probably lower your hot side, 95* is pretty hot for a baby ball.

also you can try and put the snake in a wet pillow case for a few hours with a hide, this will be like a humid hide but alot less complex and just as affective.
