    Unhappy is this a burn?

I use a zoomed uth on a light dimmer to control the max temp. i have 2 identical hides. the last few weeks he has been going back and forth to thermoregulate as normal. the temps have been 98 max. my digi therm stores max and min temps and i view them everyday. i got home from work today and noticed that the warm side was 91. i figured this was because it got cold here in FL overnight and my apt is a bit cooler. no biggie. until i took him out. his belly looks pinkish in some light. when i take him outside to look it is barely noticable but when i look at him under my dining room light, it looks abnormal. when i look closer, it kinda looks like a human sunburn. how those very tiny blood vessels stand out. than is what his scales look like but only very lightly. when i held him he acted normal and didn't seem to be bothered by me lightly touching the area. is it bad lighting or am i being paranoid or is this a light burn? i dont see how it could be a burn since the max temp was 98. there is also a 1/4 in layer of aspen between him and the uth.

any ideas guys, i am worried.

i am planning a visit to the vet in a couple of weeks just to do a checkup since he has never had one. but if this is a burn, i can move it up.

    thanks

It looks like hes going to shed. Is the entire underbelly pink? If he does not turn milky colored in the next few days then it could be a burn.

    Re: is this a burn?

you will find that he will be going into shed soon Nothing to worry about, it might get pinker see dont be surprised. Id only be worried if the top of the scales started to turn brown or dark dark red/scaby, that would be a burn or belly rot.

on a side note, Do lower his temp. 98 is to hot, but not burning hot. Keep it at 90-92

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat
