    "healthy" adult size

Question for you breeders out there. What do you consider to be a healthy adult weight for a male and also for a female. I understand that naturally females are bigger animals since they actually have to produce something during breeding.

So it is ok to keep a male only around 1000g it's entire life through maintenance feeding (say every 2 weeks) and then let the female keep feeding every week to keep putting on size?

At what weight do you all keep your snakes?

It really varies from snake to snake just like people. Some are avid eaters and grow quickly and reach pretty large sizes while others maintain themselves at lower weights.

It's not so much feeding the animal a certain amount as it is looking at the animal to determine how healthy it is as to how often it should be fed. If it starts to look thin at whatever weight it needs to be fed more often and if it starts to look obese then it needs to be fed less often.

BUT as a general way of thinking I'd say "most" males average about 1000g and "most" females average around 2000g as adults.

    Hope that helps.
