No, but I'm now sure that my little sling has had it's first shed.

So that's pretty good signs that I'm doing good with this little one. Yeah me. I thought it might be soon since the sling stopped eating a week ago. I do have a question, as the little one still seems to be a bit shy. How long do I give this baby until the exoskeleton hardens up, and I should attempt another feeding?

I usually wait a few days before feeding after a molt, usually on the 4-5 day mark. Once the color comes back is what I start to look for.

I keep thinking he's dead, because he lays funny but then I end up spooking him and he pops up. I've got to stop checking him every couple minutes.

It's like I've got a emergency T technique that will sudden application in order to save its life.

I'm fascinated too, and still a bit afraid of the little thing. His job is to help me get over my fear. The little thing isn't too intimidating, and I'm getting to be more afraid of crushing his little things than I am of the sling.

I'm actually very excited to see this first molt, since this is my first T. It did freak me out when I saw it on it's back. I didn't take any pics of that because I didn't want to disturb him. Very cool though!

Awww! You such a good T momma!!! I'm w/ Pat... when I had my rose hair and she was still smallish I waited till she "looked" ready... usually about 4-5 days to toughen up... That's one cute baby!

Aww-Now that is adorable. What species is it?

Wait 3-4 days and try to offer food. Babies harden up pretty quick but adults take a week to two weeks before wanting to eat again.

It's a Chaco Golden Knee, (Grammostola aureostriata I believe).

The little guy looks SO much bigger than before, and has happily started eating again.
