    Feeding my male...

He's maybe a year old, and I've just recently switched him to adult mice. I was feeding him once a week with two young mice (small adults/weanlings). Anyways, he's almost always hungry. I've bumped it to an adult every 5 days, but within 2-3 days of eating, he's acting hungry again. The adult mice are at his maximum limit of size, he takes awhile to eat them, and they leave a noticable lump for about two days after feeding. Why does he always act hungry? My balls are all well-fed as well, but I don't have these issues with them, and I haven't bumped them to the max size rodent that they can handle...

    Re: Feeding my male...

Well, from the experience with my 2.5 year old ghost male: Male corns are ALWAYS looking for food. Especially adults.

I feed my big guy one FT weaned rat a week and still, every time I pass his tank he looks up like I'm gonna feed him. He weighed in today at over 800g.

Just keep a steady weekly diet for him of a properly sized prey item and try to ignore the begging.

    Re: Feeding my male...

I'd have to agree with argentra, I'm more experienced with corns than any other herp, and they really can be total predatory eating machines.

Even the day after feeding an adult corn, I would be careful of one coming out active and looking for food if you open the cage.

Some people make the mistake of overfeeding their corns because they see them acting "hungry" and feed accordingly. This can cause problems, my old vet used to see a few every year that grew so big from eating too much that their bodies were just too big for their hearts to pump blood through, eventually dying of the complications.

yea, I have a male cremecicle and he's acts like he's always hungry.
A couple of days after I feed him he's out searching the cage looking for more food.
If he's a good weight, which it sounds like he is, then don't worry about it. He's just looking, hoping to get lucky
