Brave pooch saves the day!
Dog shot three times protecting family from intruder in Oklahoma
A FAMILY dog has survived being shot three times - twice in the head - while tackling an intruder threatening his owner.
When a gunman burst through the door of Roberta Trawick's home in Oklahoma, her dog D-Boy leapt into action.
As the intruder shouted at her to get on the ground, D-Boy ran at him, CNN reported.
The gunman shot D-Boy twice in the head but that didn't put off the brave canine.
After shooting the dog a third time with no effect, the gunman fled, Ms Trawick said.
D-Boy was now recovering at home with his family.
The veterinarian who treated him said he had a hard head, Ms Trawick said.
She didn't know who the intruder was or why he picked her home.

She wakes us up every night when she shakes her head around, sounds like a studio audience clapping.
Rattles me from my slumber everytime.
Silly doggies and their big ol' floppy ears.
