Difference between morphs
This is probably a really dumb question that is easily answered, but I can't find it for myself.
So, what's the difference between a plain old pastel and a pastel jungle?
I suppose you'd have to breed a jungle BP to a pastel BP to get the pastel jungle right?
I just don't see or hear much about jungles, so I'm not so sure.
Thanks.

Re: Difference between morphs
Originally, Greg Graziani named the morph "Pastel Jungle" when he proved that the brightened look was genetic. When he proved the Cinnamon genetic, he called it "Cinnamon Pastel". This was before there were tons of morphs available. Later, there were animals called "Jungles" that have a more abberent pattern to them. Now that there are morphs like "Jungles" and Pewters (a Cinnamon crossed with a Pastel), the old names can be somewhat confusing. When someone mentions a "Pastel Jungle", though, they are talking about a Pastel (unless they specify that they are working with a line of genetic Jungles of some sort). Hopefully this clears up your confusion!

Re: Difference between morphs
Yes it does. Thanks for explaining that for me. I've been wondering for awhile now.

In your signiture it says that you have a Pastel male. I'd love to see some pictures of him if you'd like to share some.

Re: Difference between morphs
follow up question about pastels, I've been wanting to ask it and this thread is just prompting me:
What "pastel" lines are there that are the same allele/morph? I've always assumed jungle pastel and lemon pastel are pretty much "the same" morph if just from different lines. Anything else?

Re: Difference between morphs
The different lines of pastels (graziani, bell, lemon etc) are compatible. For the most part the different lines originated from different snakes proven from the wild.
The enchi was originally called the enchi pastel, but since has been proven not be be a type of pastel.
