    Prescenting Works!!

I've been reading old posts and new posts and i have to say this is the best ball python site i have ever found.

After all the reading, i decided to pre-scent my 2 balls before feeding them tonight. Oh My God! I was exstatic at the speed and quality of the strike. I think this should be a must do for snake lovers. Thanks to you guys who enlightened me to this procedure. Those who don't know... Wise up!

I get my rats/mice from petco (it's the only place in tampa i can find) and i left them in the box but put the box in the tub i use to feed inside. i waited about half an hour and let the rat loose. I saw my 5yo male attack like never before. I did the same thing with my new baby girl. I am a changed woman. pre-scenting is the way to go.

it is now conclusive that prescenting works!

now you must convert to feeding snakes within their enclosures...

I think you are right. Balls can smell very well and if food doesn't smell right or if they can't smell it, they might not eat.

I have a few snakes that I'm trying to switch over to f/t. I offer and they are not interested. At their last feeding, I had just cleaned out the mice cages and had a big tube of dirty wood shavings next to the snake rack. I offered - not interested. Then I got the great idea to drag the warm mice though the dirty litter. 2 of the 4 took the mice right away. I'm trying that trick again next feeding......

One of the many tools in the arsenol.

I would not consider feeding without presenting. It makes all the difference in the world.

    Congrats!
