Re: My new baby...
I'm curious.... The mother is "normal" looking. Dark. Black, brown, greenish brown. But the father is completely different. He's mostly beige, with greenish brown and little black outlining. Is there anyway to predict what the baby will grow up to look like?

Re: My new baby...
Actually, from what I can tell, the father looks a bit like an Irian Jaya. Can and Irian Jaya mate with a coastal???? What will their offspring look like from this mating? At the very least, I believe the father is red hypo (missing red.) I think that's what it's called, I dunno this is not my area of expertise....

yes they can mate, they're the same species... you should get some pics and post them up.
also, red hypo doesn't mean they're missing red. it's a long story, but, red hypo means that it comes from the red hypo line of jaguar carpets from norway... anerythristic is the term for an animal that lacks red pigment.
to answer your initial question; there's no good way to tell what they'll look like as adults. there's an extreme amount of variability in carpet pythons, especially coastals... but that's half the fun of owning them.
