What to expect from my first reptile show?
So im planning on going to my first reptile show in January at Pamona. and i got to thinking, what do i expect from a show?
I know there will be lots of breeders with lots of reptiles small large and in between. I'm excited to just go look. Right now I dont think i could handle another snake.
This seems to be the place that a lot of people buy their snakes. This is because you can get it directly from the breeder without having to pay shipping and you can see the snake you are buying in person? Are the prices generally lower too or do you just end up saving on shipping?
Do people bring their own snakes too? or is it more of just for shopping...
I might be in the market for supplies. Is this a great place to buy cages, thermostats n such, flexwatt, all that jazz?
I love going to these things just have never been to a reptile one, so I kinda wanted to know what to expect. I'm getting excited already.
Thanks!

Re: What to expect from my first reptile show?
what I have learned is, don't go expecting anything, because that will be a huge let down if they do not have it and the show could very well be ruined just because of that. Expect alot of good guys, and a select few guys who are all in it for the money and have dieing/ sick snakes. Also expect to use ALOT of hand sanitizer! I go with a empty mind, so if I do find something I like, its all the better, but I do not get disappointed if they have something that I wanted to see. Hope this helps!

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

I've only been to a few but I'll jump in. The ones I've been to have been great for supplies, they have everything and it's cheap. We always stock up on bulbs and such. They have all your live & frozen food for cheap to. As for the animals, we always buy someone and it's mostly the prices we can't resist but it's also being able to talk to the breeder. You get a really sense of how much they know and care about their animals. You also get to pick (in person) which animal you want, it's alot more fun than buying a picture and waiting to see what kind of personality they have.
