    My set up question

well i went out to great valley serpentarium this weekend (anyone ever buy from them?) and i was just looking around.. i wasnt planning on buying anything at that moment because a buddy of mine was going to get me baby python.. but at the serpentarium they had the last 08 baby ball.. a female.. so i had to get her. she weighs 50g..havent got a chance to measure her. and her name is mercedes.

well i dont know how many of you saw my previous post on here about my tank set up.. i have a 50 gal long.. and i was told that its too big for a baby and it wold b hard to keep temps and humidity up.. so i went to petsmart and picked up a 20 gal fish tank (i beleive it is) for 10 buks. i have a UTH. (the largest one they sell at petsmart) and my question was this. Can i use this UTH for this small of a tank? i know im not supposed to have the whole tank at 92. so what i did was stick some aluminum foil to the sticky side of the pad (so i can easily remove it when i need to upgrade tanks) and taped the pad to half od the bottom of the tank. the tank is raised about 3 in off the ground so on the cool side the pad just hangs down.. dosent make contact with the tank. and all i have right now is one of the home depot light dimmers to adjust the temp. and i have a thermometer. all weekend i was cheking on it every hour. even set my alarm to wake me up to check at night and the kool side varies form 79 to 84 and the warm side from 90 to 94. does this sound like a good idea? or should i buy a smaller heating pad? im just kinda low on $$ since i just moved out but if necessary i WILL buy the pad.

ill try to get some pics up later to show what im trying to explain if you cant understand.. and to show u guys my mercedes =]

    Re: My set up question

Those temps sound pretty good. Keep an eye on your humidity, should stay 50-60%.
