    First feeding for me!

I've had my baby BP for a little over a week now and he is doing great. He's so crazy! He's always trying to climb on things. He especially loves the plastic tank clinging leaves that he gets his entire body up into and just hangs out. He likes slithering up the two tank temp probes too, but then gets caught and has to figure out how to get out

Anyways, I gave him a week for acclimation and then I just attempted my first feed two days ago. I gave him a small live mouse. The damn mouse pooped/pissed in the carton. Anyways, I dumped him in the tank (no hemostats yet ) and gave him about ten minutes of wandering around and doing nothing.

I think my BP got scared when I came home and was making a ruckus turning lights on and throwing my stuff around. So, after ten minutes I took the mouse out. I let the tank warm up some and then I tried again. It took about ten minutes or so for the damn mouse to get over to the side of the tank the snake was on. Finally, the mouse starting crawling up in the same leaf cling that my BP was in! He climbed down, went over and got on top of his hide. Just then, my BP stuck his head out a bit, then as if on cue, the mouse turned around and BAM! Needless to say my snake couldn't be bothered to leave the tank leaf cling to constrict.

I started to get mad because he was constricting where I couldn't get a good angle. He read my mind and brought him out and finished constricting and devouring him right in front of me. I was so pumped.

I was recording it on my video camera, but then got irritated after the first attempt. I'll try again with the next feeding.

Just thought I'd update you guys. Still haven't decided on a name. I'm stuck between Finn (I just like the name) and Tarzan (since he climbs so damn much).

You are very lucky; when I first got my BP, I waited a week like you, then tried feeding and she kept refusing over and over again! Finally (after a week or two), she ate, but even now she is still fussy and sometimes refuses. She also sleeps all day and doesn't climb much at all.... but she's still really sweet when I take her out.

Ball Pythons rock! Hope you have lots of fun!
