    AcuRite Thermometer Question

So this may be a silly question but I can't find a good explanation in the manual or online anywhere...

I have an acurite thermometer with humidity gage... got from lowes for like $12... It has lotsa numbers but I can't quite figure out what all of them represent...

In min/max... does it ever show current?
Out current + min/max... this makes perfect sense...
humidity where does it measure the humidity? @ the sensor probe or at the unit?

Is my In temperatures the ones at the unit and my Out the ones from the probe, or is it the other way around?

I currently have the unit set up behind my cool hide and the probe on the bottom of the warm hide... My biggest concern is really where its getting its humidity reading, obviously the warmer of the 2 temps is going to be form the probe... Its running in a 31qt tub with a UTH...

    Thanks!
    Thanks!

    Re: AcuRite Thermometer Question

You dont want either to be on min/max. Outside is the probe, inside measures from the unit, along with humidity. Make sure the unit itself doesnt get too wet or you will have HI humidity reading until it dries out. If this happens, blast it with the hairdryer till you get a reading again. G'luck.

    Re: AcuRite Thermometer Question

The min max will tell you where your thermostat turns on and off at. It will checks the min max over time. The humidity should be standard in the tub it shouldn't matter where you put the unit inside. I haven't notice and difference when i move mine around in the cage to check for gradient with humidity. I bought 2 accurites the one you have monitors room temps. The one i use in my cages to check temps has no probe its just a box.

I just stick mine by the hide that my BP spends the most time in. I keep it as close to the ground as possible because that is where she spends her time.

Is there any reason not to just velcro the thermometer to the top of the hide?
